Styling a Wardrobe Staple: One Skirt, Once a Week, for One Month

A pencil skirt is a classic silhouette, offering endless options for styling. In a darker color, it can slim and elongate the figure, making it a chic and versatile wardrobe staple every woman should have in her closet. After my recent course in style coaching, I’m approaching shopping differently. Not only do I have to love …

Military Swagger

Fall has officially begun here in New England! The past few weeks we’ve been having such mild weather but that hasn’t stopped me from trying out fall trends. I am having a bit of an obsession with military style jackets this fall. In today’s post, I’m pairing my leather mini skirt with a t-shirt and utility jacket for a cool laid-back vibe.

I found this leather mini from Wilson Leather for a steal at a thrift shop. Leather is on trend this fall and there are so many options from genuine leather to vegan leather, from short to midi, to straight to pleats, I love them all! Utility jackets made it strong on the fashion scene in 2015 and for me the style still going strong! I can’t wait to pair this jacket with various pieces from casual to dressed up. My jacket in this post is from Gap and still available in green and khaki. You’ll find my shopping links at the end of this post.

Given the amazing weather we’ve been having, I had to take advantage of a final lake house weekend a few weeks ago. It was spectacular and the lake was picture perfect.  I took full advantage of it with boating, swimming, paddle boarding and of course getting a few photos for the blog in this gorgeous setting.

While I love this mild warm weather, I’m looking forward to the change in seasons. It is a time to clean out my closet, donate items I no longer wear and decide on a few new pieces to add.  Of course, I know I’ll turn to my fall staples: tall boats, skinny jeans and long sweaters. What are some of the things that you’re looking forward to wearing once the weather changes? I’ll be adding a pair of faux leather leggings, high wasted black pants and maybe a pair of plaid pumps to my wardrobe this fall. Bring on the pumpkin spice, changing leaves and that crisp fall air!

Lush Lashes, no prescription needed!

The saying goes that the eyes are the windows to the soul, I say that lashes are what lights up those windows!

I have a lash obsession! In the past 5 years, I have been on a quest for the longest most voluminous lashes I can find, minus the $250 price tag and hour + application time for lash extensions. If you’re willing to pay the price and make the time, I’ll admit lash extensions are going to give you the most dramatic lashes. For those of us looking for other options, lash serums have come a long way since the release of Latisse. Today’s serums no longer require a prescription to lock in long lush gorgeous lashes.

My quest for the ultimate lashes started about 5 years ago. While on vacation with my sister, I kept looking at her face and wondering what was different, I couldn’t pinpoint what had changed? Turned out, she had been using RevitaLash and the results spoke for themselves. Of course, I had to jump on the lash train. I started using RevitaLash consistently and within about 4 weeks I could see the difference, in about 6 weeks, other people were asking me what I was doing different.

I used RevitaLash faithfully for years, but  wondered if there might be other serums that were better. I switched to Rapid Lash and noticed my lashes lost the volume and length I had with RevitaLash, it just wasn’t the same. I switched back, but I had yet to discover the Holy Grail of lash serums. During a ski trip I was in envy of a friend’s lashes.  Being me, I had to ask what was going on. That was when I discovered Rodan + Field’s Lash Boost.

Top: 2 weeks with Lash Boost, no mascara. Middle: 3 months, no mascara. Bottom: 3 months, with one coat of mascara.

This lash serum has taken my lashes to a whole new level. Not only are my lashes longer, they are more voluminous and they have a bit of a natural curl. I’m not alone in my results with this product and have witnessed friend’s lashes transform after using Lash Boost. It simply does what it promises, gives you lush, long lashes.

At $150 for a 3-month supply, I realize this is an investment, but let me give you some insider info, that 3-month supply I bought in March, I’m still using in September. You do need to use this product nightly, with consistency, to see results, but a little goes a long way. My lashes have never been healthier or lusher, this product is a keeper for me. I’ll be lashing out for years to come!

The end of summer romance

This dreamy pink tulle skirt and black lace top have me longing for summer to never end! I’m holding onto every last second of warm, sunny weather.

I am in love with this dreamy pink tulle skirt and black lace tank top from Chic Wish. I’m looking for any excuse to put this on and twirl around! You can shop the look here:

My bag and sunglasses are Coach from a few seasons ago, but here are some other options I love | Bag | Sunglasses

The change of seasons is inevitable here in Boston, regardless,  I am holding onto summer and soaking up every sunshiny day we have left. As we transition to colder fall weather, I still plan to wear this skirt throughout the fall with a cropped black sweater, and a black bomber jacket. I’ll switch out my sandals for booties and this look can take me into early November.

So while summer may be coming to an end, flirty, romantic, feminine style never will.

Go nude with some of my favorites in that barely there shade. With summer in full swing, I thought I would share my favorites in that undressed shade because what’s not to love about a little white sundress accessorized with soft skin and barely there accents? It is effortlessly chic. Opi’s Barefoot in Barcelona is …
